What would the majority of people choose to do in their youth? Firstly finishing high school, later obtaining a degree at university, getting some occupation, and forming a family could seem an ideal plan for one’s life. Nonetheless, sometimes it does not happen this way. There can be circumstances in a student’s life that prevent him or her from smooth learning. Such students are called non-traditional ones. However, the best choice for them would be to continue studies despite the obstacles in order to have the career they have always wanted.

First of all, I would like to emphasize the fact that returning to school is never easy and involves personal dedication. Nevertheless, reaching a high level of education and the zenith of the academic life has always been my aspiration and goal. The endless nature of edification drives me to seek further education, which I see as a means of reaching professionalism and efficiency in work. Having some background in the field of literature and languages, I considered that the next step in actualization of my zeal to learn would be to take this class.

I had to face different challenges when I decided to return to school. According to Cavote and Kopera-Frye, non-traditional students usually face such difficulties as a lack of familial tradition of schooling as well as social or academic support (2007). The possible decisions of these problems could be the greater use of learning support services and efforts in integration into academic social life (Gilardi & Guglielmetti, 2011). As for me, I have problems with my time planning and goal setting because of the occupation which demands a lot of time and energy off campus. Still, now I understand that learning to manage my time will help me to organize my study. Actually I don’t have any concerns apart from the described above because I really like my field of study.

Sometimes a young man can face obstacles in their life which can prevent them from receiving an education. However these difficulties can be overcome with self-discipline and the help of other people. I believe that the real interest in your field of study will give you energy to succeed in your education and career.
