Working at Heights Training Waterloo is provided by F.A.S.T. Rescue, a certified provider in Waterloo, Ontario.
 
Our program in Waterloo aligns with the latest Ontario regulations, equipping workers with essential knowledge for the safe use and operation of height-related equipment.
 
Upon completing the course, participants will be able to identify fall hazards and implement proper safety protocols. The primary goal of this course is to educate workers on their rights and responsibilities when working at heights, ensure safe practices in line with regulatory standards, and provide instruction on selecting, inspecting, and using industry-standard fall arrest equipment, including harnesses and lanyards.

COURSE OUTLINE:
This course covers the following topics:
  • Legal Requirements:
    • Overview of the OHSA and Regulations
    • Roles, rights, and responsibilities of competent persons and workers
    • Employer safety policies and programs
    • Workers’ rights and the Internal Responsibility System
    • Enforcement, fines, and penalties
  • Fall Protection System Training:
    • Hazard recognition, including identifying and eliminating fall hazards
    • Working alone and the Hierarchy of Control Measures
    • Fall prevention regulations and workplace inspections
  • Fall Prevention:
    • Use of guardrails, protective covers, warning barriers, and travel restraint systems
  • Fall Protection Systems and PPE:
    • Selection, inspection, and setup of fall protection equipment and anchor points
    • Emergency rescue procedures and suspension trauma
  • Ladders and Access Equipment:
    • Safe use of ladders, scaffolds, powered elevating platforms, and suspended access equipment
  • Workplace-Specific Training:
    • Customized training based on specific workplace requirements
Certification:
Upon successful completion of the 8-hour training, participants will receive a certificate approved by the Chief Prevention Officer (CPO).
 
Provided Materials:
All necessary course materials and workbooks will be supplied.
 
Breaks and Lunch:
The session includes several 10-minute breaks and a 30-minute lunch break. Participants are encouraged to arrange their own lunch.
