Linsheng-How Does Jump Starter Work?
Jump Starter or Booster Pack
The jump starter is a convenient device that acts like the battery of another car and comes with its own crocodile clip to hold it to the battery in the car. Jump starters have their advantages and disadvantages. Best of all, it eliminates the need for another car and messy jumpers. If the battery in your car doesn't flip the engine, you can hang the launcher on the battery yourself and (hopefully) get enough peak amps from the launcher to "enhance" the battery and flip the engine. The quality and price range of jumper packs varies. The higher the price, the better the launcher. Keep in mind that you may not need all the gadgets with Jump Starter. If you use these accessories, such as a flashlight or a portable air compressor, many of them may draw some charge from them. Some jump starters can provide approximately 1700 peak current to help boost the battery power, thereby starting the starter and starting the engine. The downside of starter packs is that they don't charge your battery. If your battery is completely dead or your cold-start current is low, your starter may not be able to provide the power required to boost the battery.
How it works
It is very easy to connect the jump starter to the battery. Match the colored alligator clips of the starter kit with the battery terminals; red is positive and black is negative. After attaching the clip to the battery, if applicable, turn on the power button of the jump starter. Some models automatically output peak amps without a power on / off button. When clipped to a battery terminal (turned on if equipped with a power source), the jump starter transmits its peak amperage to the battery and "boosts" the battery's crank amperage. Before attempting to start the vehicle, make sure that the wires and starter unit are not near any moving parts. Then, start the vehicle. Because Jump Starter only provides basic peak amperage, if you insert the battery for a long time, it will not charge the battery. You have a trick to start the battery. However, dirty or corroded battery terminals can prevent a good connection of the alligator clips and prevent the Jump Starter from delivering its best peak amperes. Maintaining the battery and battery terminals is as important as maintaining the starter kit.
Care and maintenance
When not in use, store the starter in a cool, dry place. Do not leave it in the car, especially in extremely cold conditions, as it may drain the jumper starter and damage the plastic clamp cover. If you need to, keep the fast starter charged to optimize the peak amplifier output. Taking care of the starter will help ensure that it returns to favor when the time comes.
