8 Things Your Myotherapist Won't Judge
Have you ever worried before a Myotherapy Fitzroy appointment about your body?
Common client worries. They honestly describe their pain and what brought them to us. When treatment begins, they apologies for everything.
Your myotherapist doesn't care about these 8aspects when treating you.
1. Body weight and shape
Humans are artistic. Myotherapists appreciate anatomy and individual muscle tone and mass.
We don't care if you're an athlete or yoga beginner. We don't care whether you have jiggly bits, cellulite, or a shaky belly. We care that you're committed to improving your physique.
We're here to help, not judge, so don't be self-conscious.
2. Shaved Legs
We'd never have to work again if we got a $1 for every time we heard this apology in the clinic.
As practitioners, we don't care. We don't care if your legs are shaved. We care about your goals, not how hairy your legs are.
We work with men, so hairy legs are nothing new.
3. Underwear
If you don't have underwear on, tell us!
We all have good and awful laundry-day underpants. During treatment, the cloth covers your underwear so we can't see the colour or condition.
As long as you're comfy, we're delighted.
4. During Treatment, Talk
You decide whether to talk during treatment. You control your Wellness Nest myotherapy session.
Want to talk during treatment? Good!
Prefer to zen out without talking? Perfect.
Your comment on how the session is going and if the pressure is right is all we require. The station has deodorant, wipes, hair ties, and more. You'll feel presentable again.
5. Makeup
We know you're busy, so we'll schedule your appointments around other obligations. You can come with makeup on.
No need to worry or apologise! We don't care if it's on the linen or crest.
Comfort is a priority. The clinic changes linens and cleans the face crest between clients, makeup or not. We offer a station so you may 'put yourself back together' before departing.
6. Sleeping
If your life is so busy that you can only rest on our treatment table, do so.
We may ask you to wake up if we need to adjust the treatment plan, get input during a technique, or if you need to turn over. Then return to dreamland.
7. Pain-tolerance
Individual pain thresholds vary. Your pain threshold isn't a competition for who can 'handle' the most.
Each situation and issue is unique. Your muscles' limits will be revealed. If we're doubtful, we'll ask you to rate your discomfort from 0 to 10 (0=no pain, 10=worst agony ever).
No pain, no gain is NOT a clinic motto. Effective treatment doesn't have to be painful. When you relax into our techniques and tools, treatment is typically more effective.
8. Scars
Myotherapy profession is amazing since we encounter different people. We discover their tales and how they got to us as we work with them.
Many of you show us scars, birthmarks, stretch marks, etc. We don't judge or question their existence. We'll only ask if we think they're affecting your condition.
If you've seen another doctor
As the profession grows, you've probably seen another practitioner like us. If so, don't feel embarrassed!
We respect all industry professionals. We know that different practitioners will help you at different points in your life.
