Masai Mara National Park is located in the south of Kenya along the border of Tanzania and is adjacent to the neighboring Serengeti National Park. The park is named in honor of the indigenous people of the Maasai community. Masai Mara National Park occupies an area of 580 square miles.



It represents the northernmost section of the Serengeti-Mara ecosystem. The Mara River, Sand River, and Talek River are the premier rivers draining waters of the park.
