BJP Cultural Cell Urges Implementation Of Visitor's Guidelines At Vadale Lake, Panvel
The Cultural Cell of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Uttar Raigad District has recently expressed its concerns regarding visitors at Vadale Lake in Panvel. They have submitted a letter to Prashant Thakur, the MLA of Panvel, as well as Paresh Thakur, the former leader of the House at the PMC, requesting the formulation of visitor guidelines for the lake.
Abhishek Patwardhan, the President of BJP's cultural cell in Uttar Raigad, emphasized the historical significance of Panvel City as the "City of Lakes." In line with this heritage, the civic body has recently undertaken the beautification project of Vadale Lake, a prominent lake in the Panvel region.
The transformation of Vadale Lake has turned it into a notable tourist attraction in Panvel City. Numerous residents visit the lake for leisurely walks, exercise routines, or simply to spend quality time with their friends and family.
Urgent Action Needed: Visitors Polluting Vadale Lake Premises
Nevertheless, it has come to light that certain individuals have been engaging in improper behavior at Vadale Lake, such as feeding the fish and discarding food items like bread, dough, biscuits, and chips into the lake. This irresponsible action has resulted in the lake becoming unhygienic.
Despite repeated warnings from security guards, there has been no lasting solution to address this persistent issue. Therefore, it is imperative to install permanent signboards that provide clear instructions on maintaining cleanliness and hygiene at the site.
Furthermore, the lake experiences a significant influx of visitors during the evening hours, and some individuals contribute to noise pollution by playing loud music in the vicinity. This is a matter of concern as well.
Abhishek Patwardhan suggested, "To effectively deter rule-breakers, an increase in the number of security guards should be considered. Additionally, strict penalties and confiscation measures should be enforced for the unauthorized use of loudspeakers." He also emphasized the need for comprehensive CCTV camera coverage across the entire premises to prevent any untoward incidents from occurring.
