Latest Situation of Travel in Tibet
Tibet travel for foreign Expats living, working and studying in China is finally open from 14th September 2021. The Tibet travel permit usually takes a couple of weeks, and the latest trip date could be in the first week of October 2021.
Expats in China usually have a Work Visa (Z Visa) or residence permit. But you still need a Tibet entry permit to visit Tibet. The following documents are required to apply for a Tibet permit:
Scanned copy of your Passport and Visa or Residence permit
Acknowledgement letter from your working organization (Stating your full name, passport number, nationality and relationship with host Organization)
3 months non-departure record proof letter issued either by your work company or neighbourhood residential committee. (This information can be written on the same document as the work company acknowledgement letter.

Covid 19 test result within 48hours when you board your flight or train to Tibet.
