PAYPAL·MERCREDI 29 MARS 2017
Partnership to enable foreign tourists to enjoy a seamless for bookings experience
India, 29 March 2017: PayPal, the world’s leading open digital payments company, today announced a partnership with Vistarooms.com. The partnership will enable foreign travelers traveling to India book hotels in a safe and seamless manner and on a platform they are familiar with.
Vistarooms.com has over 1000+ hotels across India, Sri Lanka and Maldives and they will be using the automated invoicing capability of PayPal. Through this facility, they will be able to automatically send invoices to customers by an email along with a link that can be followed to complete payments through PayPal.
Megha Thareja Tyagi, Director, Large Merchants, India, PayPal said, “Given the recent policy push towards encouraging digital payments in the country, the landscape has never been more conducive. We have focused on mapping the touch points of foreign tourists lifecycle - ranging from hotels, cab services, food, and festivals and partnering with these merchants to enable them to enjoy a safe and seamless travel experience while also protecting the Incredible India story. Vistarooms.com will help us further add to the existing list of travel and tourism partners that include OYO rooms and Makemytrip. Additionally, our robust Seller Protection program helps merchants safeguard their online services from frauds.”
PayPal’s Seller Protection policy places the merchants’ funds on hold once a buyer files a claim, requests merchants to provide information that justifies their deliverables and releases funds to the sellers once the transaction is deemed eligible. PayPal is among the very few payment infrastructure providers across the globe to provide a seller protection policy.
Ankita Sheth, Co-Founder, Vista Rooms said, “At Vista Rooms, we are focused on giving a traveller a seamless stay experience wherever one may travel. Our partnership with PayPal allows us to provide further payment flexibility to both local and international travellers. Furthermore, the automated invoicing capability also simplifies the booking and accounting process for us. Overall, it's a win-win for both the customer and the company.”
Travel and tourism is the third largest foreign exchange earner for India. According to a study, India is a large market for travel and tourism. And it’s contribution to India’s GDP is expected to increase to US$ 275.2 billion in 2025
