New Film “Hazard” Takes an Unflinching Look at Addiction and Family Struggles Amid the Opioid Epidemic

The powerful indie drama “Hazard” premieres in theaters on January 10, 2025, initially opening in 40 theaters across opioid-impacted areas, including locations in Appalachia, the UK, Kenya, and New Zealand, before expanding nationwide and internationally.

Directed by Eddie Mensore and starring Alex Roe and Sosie Bacon, "Hazard" tells the story of a struggling couple ensnared in a town gripped by addiction and economic hardship. Will (Roe), a reluctant drug dealer, faces the difficult choice of leaving Hazard to break free from the cycle of addiction. He urges his partner, Sara (Bacon), to start fresh with him, leading to a poignant exploration of addiction, love, and resilience.
