Working at Heights Training Oshawa is provided by F.A.S.T. Rescue, an accredited training provider in Ontario.
 
Our Working at Heights Training Program in Oshawa adheres to the latest Ontario training standards. This course equips workers with the essential knowledge for safely operating equipment while working at heights.
 
Upon successful completion of the course, participants will be able to identify fall hazards and implement appropriate safety measures. The primary goal of the training is to ensure that workers understand their rights and responsibilities when working at heights, know how to work safely in accordance with regulatory standards, and are proficient in selecting, inspecting, and using industry-standard fall arrest equipment, including harnesses and lanyards.

  • Legal Requirements: Covering the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and relevant regulations, including:
    • Competent person and worker definitions
    • Roles, rights, and responsibilities
    • Employer safety policies and programs
    • Worker rights
    • Internal Responsibility System
    • Regulations, enforcement, fines, and penalties
  • Fall Protection System Training:
    • Hazard recognition
    • Identifying and eliminating fall hazards
    • Working alone
    • Hierarchy of Control Measures
    • Fall prevention regulations
    • Workplace inspections
  • Fall Prevention:
    • Guardrails, protective covers, warning barriers, and travel restraint systems
  • Fall Protection Systems and Personal Protective Equipment:
    • Fall prevention systems
    • Personal fall protection equipment and components
    • Selection, inspection, and setup of fall protection equipment and anchor points
    • Emergency rescue procedures
    • Suspension trauma
  • Ladders and Other Access Equipment:
    • Ladders, scaffolds, powered elevating work platforms, and suspended access equipment
    • Workplace-specific training
Certification:
Participants who successfully complete this 8-hour training session will receive a certificate approved by the Chief Prevention Officer (CPO).
 
Provided Materials:
All necessary course materials and workbooks will be supplied.
 
Breaks and Lunch:
Several 10-minute breaks and a 30-minute lunch break will be scheduled. Participants are encouraged to arrange their own lunch.
