Our Working at Heights Training Program in Grimsby is fully compliant with the latest Ontario training standards. This program equips workers with the essential knowledge to safely operate equipment used in working at heights.
 
Upon successful completion of the course, participants will be able to identify fall hazards and implement appropriate safety measures. The course is designed to ensure operators understand their rights and responsibilities when working at heights, how to perform their duties safely in accordance with regulatory requirements, and how to properly select, inspect, and use personal fall arrest equipment, including harnesses and lanyards.

  • Understanding employer safety policies, worker rights, and the Internal Responsibility System.
  • Regulations, enforcement, fines, and penalties.
Fall Protection System Training:
  • Recognition and elimination of fall hazards.
  • Strategies for working alone and the Hierarchy of Control Measures.
  • Regulations for fall prevention and workplace inspections.
Fall Prevention:
  • Use of guardrails, protective covers, warning barriers, and travel restraint systems.
Fall Protection Systems and Personal Protective Equipment:
  • Selection, inspection, and setup of fall protection equipment and anchor points.
  • Emergency rescue procedures and understanding suspension trauma.
Ladders and Access Equipment:
  • Proper use of ladders, scaffolds, powered elevating work platforms, and suspended access equipment.
Workplace-Specific Training:
  • Focused training approved by the Chief Prevention Officer (CPO).
  • MLITSD Approved Training Provider ID: PRO-34854.
  • MLITSD Program ID for Working at Heights: WAH-34854.
Certification:
After completing this 8-hour training session, participants will receive a CPO-approved certificate of completion.

All necessary course materials and workbooks will be supplied.
 
Breaks and Lunch:
The training includes several 10-minute breaks and a 30-minute lunch break. Participants should arrange their own lunch.
