FAU-G's rating falls as PUBG Mobile fans review bomb the game: Report
With the Indian government unlikely to reverse the ban on PUBG Mobile or PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS, the rating of 'Indian PUBG' or FAU-G has taken a hit. Apparently, the fans of PUBG Mobile have left one-star ratings on the official Google Play Store for FAU-G in what is known as review bombing, the media has reported.
FAU-G's rating on Google’s app store was 4.5 stars at the time of launch, but now, it has tumbled down to 3.4. Usually, this tends to happen to draw attention to an issue pertaining to the game or the game's developer, according to a report in IGN India.
Earlier last week, FAU-G had surpassed five million downloads on Google Play Store and had become one of the top gaming apps on the Google Play Store.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) was not satisfied with the responses on how it handles and collects user data.
Earlier in December, South Korea’s KRAFTON Inc. which owns PUBG Corporation, the creator of PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS (PUBG) had appointed Aneesh Aravind as the new country manager for India, indicating that the game might see the light of the day in the country.
Aravind has previously worked with gaming giants such as Tencent and Zynga and he has more than 15 years of experience.
PUBG Corporation -- a subsidiary of South Korea’s KRAFTON Inc., has been denied permission to relaunch a revamped version of the massively popular PUBG Mobile game in the country, RTI responses from the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) had earlier revealed.
