Elizabeth Olsen has recently given an interview to Jimmy Kimmel, and her comments pertaining to the delay are very interesting.
Although no official confirmation on the likeliness of the upcoming film “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” is being pushed further ahead of its scheduled release, some quotes from one of the stars of the film Elizabeth Olsen have turned heads today. “WandaVision” actress has given an update regarding the shooting of the MCU sequel.
As we know, the principal photography of the movie is currently happening in the UK, and it has been happening for a few months. Olsen, who portrays the character Wanda Maximoff, will soon join the production along with the lead actor Benedict Cumberbatch. The film is being directed by Spiderman director Sam Raimi.
She appeared on Jimmy Kimmel’s show on Tuesday and said that the film “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” has been delayed due to the current string of lockdowns that is sweeping through the United Kingdom. The latest wave of home isolation has been mandated by the UK government since the second strain of the COVID pandemic has badly hit England and the adjacent countries.
The “WandaVision” star said to Jimmy Kimmel that she is in London and she has faced at least two lockdowns in the three months she has stayed in the capital. However, she revealed in the interview that she is not disappointed by the lockdown as much as she is disappointed by the public response to it. She further explained that the response could not be termed as “ideal.”
Doctor Strange, like many upcoming films, has reeled with delays in the preceding year. It was originally slated to be released in November of this year before it finally made its way to March of 2022. Under normal circumstances, the film was slated to begin in May/June of the last year, but the pandemic kept pushing it further down the road.
What Olsen’s comments actually mean is that there have been at least two delays since the production began in November of last year. The delays were obvious if things were in congruence with the UK’s lockdown schedule.
We can buckle ourselves up for another Doctor Strange delay news since the new strain of the virus is looking serious. However, we do have to keep in mind that the release of the movie is almost a year ahead in the future, but then again, whatever happened last year taught us a fact that unlike Warner Bros. and DC studios, “Marvel Studios” likes to play safe.
As of now, the MCU tentpole starring Benedict Cumberbatch has been scheduled for a release in March of 2022. However, Elizabeth Olsen will be seen alongside Paul Bettany in the Disney+ series “WandaVision,” which is scheduled to be released on January the 15th, 2020. The trailer of the series, along with that of “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier,” has been released on YouTube, and you can watch it right now.
