Potato diet man dies? What? 

Well, no, the world-famous potato man didn’t die, for sure, but he did kill some huge amount of weight. The estimate of the same goes beyond 117 pounds in a span of twelve months. The rumor going about Andrew Taylor is completely false. However, to those who are unaware of who this potato man is, he is an Australian man who started the journey towards a healthy life with a weight of 334 pounds. The correct measure of the weight that he lost is 220 pounds. Which is great! And do you know what he did to lose that much weight? Ate only potatoes, yes, that is all that he did. This was called a ‘spud fit challenge’ that later on became much more popular when people saw what all can happen with eating only potatoes.

Surprising isn’t it. Who could think that eating potatoes can lead to weight loss. However, he did much than just eating potatoes, Andrew says for himself that he caught up with some simple rules of eating potatoes that changed his life forever. And now, he is on a mission to bring changes in others’ lives as well. The basic 6 rules that he followed were:

  1. Eating only potatoes, although you can experiment with a  variety of them such as sweet potatoes. He didn’t count the intake of the potatoes and consumed as many as he could until his hunger is satisfied. On average he consumed 8-9 pounds of potatoes in a day’s diet. 
  2. Used only a few herbs, spices, and other fat-free sauces. He says that adding some soya milk in the mashed potatoes can make the taste go from 0 to 100 in no time. 
  3. He discarded everything from oil to dairy products such as cheese and also gave up eating meat and eggs. He says that even oils can harm your health in ways you cannot imagine. 
  4. Try to exercise about 90 minutes a day, according to your comfort and schedule. 
  5. He tips people about not fearing the carbs as they can be healthy too if consumed in a correct way. He says that all he ate was mashed potatoes, boiled potatoes, or baked potatoes, but that never affected the consistency of his weight loss. 
  6. Avoid taking unnecessary supplements other than B12. 

All this started as an experiment that Andrew Taylor, the potato man tried and proved that eating potatoes can lead to weight loss. Follow this man and get to know the tricks and hacks of losing weight by eating potatoes. And certainly, avoid the rumors!
