Whether you are roping a cow, riding a horse and doing tricks, or riding a bull and trying to break a record, you should enjoy your time at the rodeo. It doesn’t matter if you are the spectator or the one down in the rodeo, there’s an energy that is just powerful and wonderful and practically thrumming inside the stadium!

But every single rodeo can be dangerous for everyone involved. Accidents can happen to the riders, the animals, the spectators, and more. This is where rodeo insurance needs to be used because it can prevent all sorts of massive problems. But how does rodeo insurance work? What makes it different from all the other types of insurance out there?

What Is Rodeo Insurance?

Rodeo insurance protects the people running the rodeo, as well as those who are participating in the rodeo from injury. The risk of injury to everyone involved is very high, and the risk is only growing. Additionally, the insurance focuses on protecting the buildings and the property.

Finally, the organizers and sponsors of the rodeo focus on getting insurance to protect themselves if the rodeo can’t go on as planned. For example, if weather events or other events cause the rodeo to shut down, then they are protected from all the losses.

Rodeo insurance can cover a lot of things and can be used by a lot of people. However, the most common type of insurance has to be bull riding insurance, or participant liability insurance.

What Is Participant Liability Insurance?

Whether the participant is a rider or a rodeo clown, they need participant liability insurance to make sure that they are protected. Additionally, the owners and operators of the rodeo won’t be on the hook for any injuries or deaths that occur due to an accident. Additionally, many participants in the rodeo need to sign a release that says they understand the risk and what their insurance covers.

Additionally, there is a special insurance just for rodeo clowns as well. They not only need to have some type of life insurance, but they should also have Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) insurance as well. If they suffer a covered accident, then they will find that they are covered for it.

Rodeo Insurance Is Complicated, But You Need It As A Participant

If you want to get involved in the high risk and high reward game of rodeo, you need to make sure that you have everything you need. Don’t be afraid to talk to insurers and make sure that you understand the insurance you have before you put your name down on a waiver. The more information you have, the safer you are going to be.
