The symptoms of acute nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) overdose are typically limited to the following manifestations: apathy, drowsiness, nausea, vomiting, and epigastric pain. These effects are generally reversible with appropriate maintenance therapy. However, more serious outcomes, such as gastrointestinal bleeding, can occur. In rarer instances, there is a potential for arterial hypertension, acute renal failure, respiratory depression, and even coma. Additionally, anaphylactoid reactions have been reported at therapeutic doses of NSAIDs, which could also manifest in cases of overdose.
