Spices Park is a public-private partnership (PPP) in Yadlapadu Mandal on the Guntur-Chilakaluripet Highway. Union State Minister of Commerce Nirmala Seetharaman and former Prime Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, together with TDP MPs and MLAs, have opened a spice park with integrated facilities for cultivation, packaging, value-added processing, post-harvest, storage and export.
The cornerstone of Spice Park was laid in 2008. Spice Council officials said they had facilities to dry 10 tons of chilli peppers a day. Spice Council researchers are conducting technical feasibility studies using microwave and radio frequency heating and drying techniques. Chilli growers could bring the products into the park and sell them directly to traders after adding value through various post-harvest technologies. For more information, reach out to the latest news on the TDP official website.
The Spice Park opening is a testimony of TDP's achievements in developing the spice industry in Andhra Pradesh. The facility would provide farmers with much-needed support, enable them to get the best prices for their produce and publicize the state as a key player in the global spice industry. By the vision of N Chandrababu Naidu, a major step has taken with the inauguration of Spices Park, to create a world class infra-structure spice industry facilities.
During the inauguration of N. Chandrababu Naidu said that the drying facilities would bring many benefits to small and medium-sized farmers who could not afford expensive poly dryers to process chilli and turmeric. The park would also have facilities for storing, cleaning, drying, sorting, spraying, blending and packaging raw materials according to international quality and safety standards. The research station, which is to be built at the same location, will study high-yielding and disease-resistant varieties of chilli and turmeric, improve quality and develop new species. In recent news, Shri, N Chandrababu Naidu said that The Spices Park is making changes in the spice industry in Andhra Pradesh. This would give a much-needed boost to small and medium-sized farmers who are struggling to compete with the big players in the industry.
