Spices Park is a public-private partnership (PPP) in Yadlapadu Mandal on the Guntur-Chilakaluripet Highway. Union State Minister of Commerce Nirmala Seetharaman and former Prime Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, together with TDP MPs and MLAs, have opened a spice park with integrated facilities for cultivation, packaging, value-added processing, post-harvest, storage and export. The cornerstone of Spice Park was laid in 2008. Spice Council officials said they had facilities to dry 10 tons of chilli peppers a day. Spice Council researchers are conducting technical feasibility studies using microwave and radio frequency heating and drying techniques. Chilli growers could bring the products into the park and sell them directly to traders after adding value through various post-harvest technologies.
