There is a necessity for mechanisation for the state to turn up on top in terms of horticulture and if adapted properly high amount of the economy will be flourished through horticulture and aquaculture making this his main motive for the welfare of farmers and the growth of agriculture in Andhra Pradesh, Shri. Nara Chandrababu Naidu the, then reigning Chief Minister of the state took the initiative of promoting and implementing the Horticulture project in Andhra Pradesh. 

The TDP Government has taken a vast area under horticultural crops which was 11.00 lakh hectares in 1995-96 and further reached 14.85 lakh hectares by 2002-03. In 1995-98, oil palm plantations were completed in an area of ​​15,000 hectares and increased to 35,000 hectares in 2002-03, making Andhra Pradesh the number one state in this production, which is a major TDP Contribution in the field of horticulture development in AP.

Shri. Nara Chandrababu Naidu and the TDP MLAs have successfully implemented the Horticulture Department and floriculture projects at low cost in the twin cities and surrounding areas of Visakhapatnam. Around 41 units of 500 square meter area each are functioning and a total of 105 units were taken up in the year 2001. A multi-cropping system like an oil farm in coastal districts, vanilla, Miriam, and cocoa in coconut plantations has been implemented successfully in 3,150 hectares in the year 2001.

The TDP Government and the corresponding TDP Party Leaders have implemented Gravity drip irrigation in shamirpet and Modu Chintalapalli villages, in the united Andhra Pradesh,  where the SC, ST and Dwakra groups have carried out the cultivation of vegetables and greens. Under the Governance of Shri. Nara Chandrababu Naidu, then Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, in 2002-2003, about1,18,000 hectares were brought under orchard cultivation and 50 thousand acres of upland plantation project was implemented. A modern mushroom laboratory has been set up in Hyderabad at a cost of 27 lakh rupees and three Agricultural Export Zones at Hyderabad, Vijayawada and Chittoor have been formed and1 lakh 20 thousand hectares of orchards were promoted during this year under the priority of Top TDP Policies for the promotion of Horticulture in Andhra Pradesh.
