Draupadi Murmu is the first indigenous woman to serve as president of India, becoming the country's 15th president. Draupadi Murmu of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) started off with a big lead over Yashwant Sinha of the opposition, according to the support offered by various parties.
The President of India is the Head of State. They are known as the country's original citizens. In accordance with Articles 52 and 53 of the Indian Constitution, the President of India has the authority to carry out all administrative duties of the Union either personally or through subordinates.
The Indian Constitution came into force on January 26, 1950, following its ratification on November 26, 1949. India's first president under its new constitution was Rajendra Prasad.
