"As we watched Beta testers WOTLK Gold play and heard their reactions to our modifications and repairs the results confirmed what we were thinking before this test. Simply raising the mob's health and restoring a few removed mechanics was not hitting the mark we had in mind for a season focused on speedier progress and "more difficult" game content." Blizzard writes.

In the next test Blizzard promises to be making "significant modifications" on Molten Core and Onyxia's Lair But the intention was not making the combat so difficult that well-trained and well-prepared raid groups are unable to make progress.

"We do not intend to alter the fighting so as to make them and completely unrecognizable, or even fundamentally different from their Classic variants." Blizzard writes. "Our idea is to bring something subtle and fresh to coincide with The Season of Mastery that feels like it's in the essence of the original fights."

A release date has not been set for WoW Classic Season of Mastery has been determined. An announcement for WoW Classic seasons was announced amid fallout from multiple lawsuits and investigations into an alleged lengthy record of sexual harassment as well as discrimination within Activision Blizzard. Next year's BlizzCon event, where major announcements of the games developed by the studio typically occur but was recently cancelled. Blizzard promises to be taking extra time to think about the future of the event but the announcements of upcoming games and updates will come in the months ahead.

Blizzard declares that the resources usually devoted to putting on the annual convention will be directed towards "supporting our teams and further improvement of our games and experiences."
