Kapil Sharma was born on 2nd April 1981 is a professional stand-up comedian, television as well as film actor. He is the producer as well as the host of The Kapil Sharma Show. The Kapil Sharma Show is one of the most popular shows in India as well as across the globe. He was ranked 12th and 19th in Forbes India’s Celebrity Top 100 list. Kapil has also starred in a few Bollywood movies as one of the lead actors.

Kapil Sharma was born in State Punjab Amritsar City in India to a Punjabi family. His father's name was Jeetendra Kumar Punj and his mother's name is Janak Rani. He follows Hinduism and holds and holds an Indian Nationality. His father worked as a police constable in Punjab Police and his mother is a housewife. Kapil’s father was diagnosed with cancer disease and died after battling it for a long duration of seven years. Kapil has two siblings named Ashok Kumar Sharma and Pooja Sharma.  Kapil had completed his schooling at Shri Ram Ashram school in Amritsar. After completing his schooling he joined Hindu College for his further education. He was interested in fine arts so he joined Apeejay College of Fine Arts in Jalandhar to pursue that course further.

Kapil started his career by doing small roles in various television shows. He rose to fame after winning the reality Comedy TV show named The Great Indian Laughter Challenge in the year 2007. He won a huge amount after winning the show. He has also been the winner of popular comedy shows like Comedy Circus and many other comedy shows. After winning various comedy shows Kapil went on to create his own comedy show, named Comedy Nights with Kapil. The show turned out to be a huge blockbuster hit with a record-breaking number of viewers which turned him into a star. He started getting projects from Bollywood after his successful show. He made his Bollywood debut with the movie named Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon in 2015 with the lead role portraying the role of Kumar Shiv Ram Kishan. Kapil has also won several awards and hosted numerous events apart from acting and doing comedy shows. Kapil got married to Ginni Chatrath in the year 2018 and has 2 kids now.
