Many of the best Chinese painters of the twentieth century ended up in France, which may surprise some people. To be precise, Paris was the most important city. The plan at the time was to study the technique of art in the West while remaining true to the Far East's character. In the 1920s, a group of early Chinese painters travelled to Paris. With the passage of time, the output of Chinese contemporary painters began to rise to a significant level. These paintings began to appear in museums throughout France. The Musee Cernuschi became home to some of the best exhibitions. This museum's collection is one of the most important collections of Chinese modern painting in Europe. Xu Beihong paintings for sale are available online at auction.

It is true that the imperial period came to an end in 1911. The period of the "emperors" and their exploitation of the people had come to an end. For the Chinese aristocracy around the turn of the century, the growth of the modern way of thinking had huge consequences. These scholars seemed to have a natural desire to learn in the West. In the early decades of the twentieth century, Japan, America, and Europe all became popular destinations for Chinese students. Painters, it turned out, seemed to wind up in France. In France, Chinese painters may absorb the classical teachings of the Academie des Beaux-Arts professors in drawing and oil painting, as well as the growing influence of select avant-garde masters.

Two painters in particular had a significant role in the history of China-France cultural relations. Xu Beihong and Lin Fenmian were the artists. These two Chinese painters were interested in exhibition ventures. Xu Beihong horse paintings are famous worldwide. The goal of these programmes was to familiarise French audiences to Chinese contemporary art. However, such attempts did not appear to garner much notice at first.

Xu Beihong and Anre Dezarrois staged a Chinese painting show in 1933. It featured some of the most well-known artists of the time. It piqued the interest of major commentators as well. It eventually resulted in the national museum purchasing a group of twelve paintings. What matters most is that Lin Fengmian and Xu Beihong built on the foundations of Western-style art academies. Their work was influenced by their own educational experiences in France. The cultural and social image of Paris in Chinese art groups undoubtedly contributed to this. Among the newly trained students of the new academies, this impact was quite powerful.

Today, the legacy of Chinese modern paintings is about a century old. These paintings use contemporary foundations and certain western techniques to depict the splendour of old China. The finished product is highly appealing to the real Asian decorator's eye. This unique art style ought to be recognised and studied thoroughly. This work of art is a vital window into modern China's culture, ideas, and essence!

The museum houses over 100,000 works of art, the majority of which were created by famous artists born after the founding of the People's Republic of China, with some works created by renowned artists from the Ming, Qing, and Republic of China periods, such as Ren Bonian, Wu Changshuo, Huang Binhong, Qi Baishi, Xu Beihong, Jiang Zhaohe, Situ Qiao, Li Keran, Wu Zuoren, Ye Qianyu, Luo, and Gongliu.  Paintings, painted sculptures, porcelains, new-year drawings, paper-cuttings, toys, shadow figures, puppets, kites, embroideries, and show props are among the museum's diverse and colourful holdings. The museum houses 117 items of western art donated by German collectors, four of which were drawn by Picasso, and over 100 African wood sculptures that have been carefully kept.

In addition to domestic art exhibitions, the National Art Museum of China has hosted over 1,000 international art exhibitions, including the 19th Century France Rural Landscape Picture Exhibition, Picasso's Original Painting Works, German Expressionistic Printing Works Exhibition, Marc Chagall's (a Russian-born French Painter and Stained Glass Artist) Art Exhibition, French Impressionist Painting Works Exhibition, and African Art Exhibition. In recent years, a number of works written by museum staff have been published, including the National Art Museum of China's Collection Set, Ren Bonian's Collection of Works, Qi Baishi's Collection of Works, Huang Binhong's Collection of Works, and the Fifty-Year of Chinese Arts and Chinese Art Yearbook.
