Men's and women's Dream Teams of the Year are named by World Rugby.

For both the men's and women's games, the best 15 players in the world have been named.

World Rugby has named the men's and women's Dream Teams of the Year.

South Africa dominated the men's side, with five players named, including captain Siya Kolisi, while England was only mentioned through Maro Itoje.

Will Jordan, Beauden Barrett, and Ardie Savea were named as New Zealand's three stars, while Scotland, Ireland, and Wales were all represented once.

"The competition for this award was tough, and for a handful of our players to be in the mix in a year when they finished the season as the top team in the world makes this an even more notable achievement," said South Africa Rugby CEO Mark Alexander.

Meanwhile, the Red Roses had five players in the women's team, while France had more stars, with six players named.

Only one New Zealander, Stacey Fluhler, was named to the women's list, despite the fact that the team has only played four matches in 2021.

England's impressive inclusion on the list follows the historic award given to head coach Simon Middleton. On Tuesday, the coach became the first women's coach to be named coach of the year after the Red Roses won the Six Nations and went on a winning streak of 18 games.

"Hopefully it opens the door to anyone else who should be considered," Middleton said of the award. It adds another layer of credibility to what we're attempting to achieve, elevating the game."
