The same reasons are applicable to another kind of discrimination that refers to the dismissal of individuals because of their gender. The identification of incidents of unequal treatment during the hiring and termination processes is difficult and almost impossible because sexist reasons are generally concealed.

It is a common practice to pay a male employee more than a female individual, although both sexes have the same abilities (Kolb, 2008). Women can also face the effect of the “glass ceiling” in the fourth type of gender discrimination relating to promotion within the company. This term refers to employment practices that prevent women from top-ranking positions and consequently better wages. As a result, such tendency leads to female underrepresentation in middle management and their virtual absence in the top positions within a company.

Thus, many women express concerns about job security because of the necessity to take a maternity leave. At work, they are limited or deprived of the benefit and right to take breaks to collect milk.
