How can I reset my Yahoo password if I don't have the same number?
If you’ve lost access to the phone number connected to your Yahoo account, don’t worry—you can still reset your password using alternative recovery options. Follow these steps to regain access:
-
Go to the Yahoo Sign-In Helper
Visit https://login.yahoo.com/forgot and enter your Yahoo email address. Click “Continue.” -
Skip the Old Number Option
If Yahoo prompts you to verify your identity by sending a code to your old phone number, select “Try another way” or “I don’t have access to this” depending on what appears. -
Use Your Recovery Email
If you’ve previously added a recovery email to your account, Yahoo will offer to send a verification link there. Open your recovery email inbox and click the link to verify. -
Verify Through Other Means
If no recovery email is available, Yahoo may prompt you to answer security questions or verify your identity in another way (e.g., recent sign-in locations, account creation date). -
Create a New Password
Once verified, you’ll be prompted to enter a new, secure password. Choose something strong and unique. -
Update Recovery Options
After signing in, immediately update your recovery details. Go to Account Security > Phone Numbers and add a new, current number and recovery email.
By keeping your recovery info up to date, you can avoid similar issues in the future. If all else fails, you can contact Yahoo Support and provide identity verification to attempt account recovery manually.
