On an overnight desert trip in Dubai, you can do anything from sandboarding to dune bashing to even having a sunset picnic.

Dubai Desert is a little over an hour away from the city. Because of the close vicinity, many visitors opt to spend only an afternoon or nighttime in the desert, thereby converting it into a half-day excursion. There's nothing quite like spending a night in the desert, though. Furthermore, staying the night will allow you extra time to participate in all of the desert activities that you choose. Here are eight activities you may do on a Dubai desert tour to persuade you even more!

  • Take a Camel Safari in the desert

What would a Dubai Desert Safari in Dubai be without a camel ride? Most Dubai  safaris include a complimentary camel ride, riding a camel in a wide loop for around 15 minutes. However, we believe that the experience is well worth the money. You will be guided up and down dunes and along large expanses of sand by an experienced guide while comfortably perched upon a camel. The camel will stroll at a steady pace and may even utter an endearing grunt now and again.

When getting off the camel, grab on tight; the camel will first go down on his two front legs, then his rear legs. It'll be a wild ride!

  • Have experience of sandboarding

Many desert camps provide this as a complementary activity for their tourists to attempt. Sandboarding is simple: you must first climb a dune. It seems a lot easier than it is; every step you take will push you back two steps. After reaching the top, all you have to do now is position yourself on your sandboard and ride away. Remember to smooth the underside of your board; this will minimize friction between the board and the sand, resulting in a smoother ride. If the notion of sandboarding makes you nervous, you might choose to sit on the board rather than stand on your two feet.

  • Ride an ATV through the dunes

Like a camel safari, an ATV excursion will take you out of the desert camp and into the surrounding desert. However, riding an ATV adds the excitement of speed, allowing you to feel the rush of speeding up and down dunes!

It frequently occurs when attempting to traverse an uphill slope; the key is to accelerate entirely so that the ATV's wheels do not sink too far into the sand. However, keep an eye on the distance between you and the ATV in front of you at all times; you don't want to collide with the other rider!

  • Get a taste of dune bashing's exhilaration

Dune bashing may be compared to a crazy 44-degree rollercoaster ride! Over dunes, you'll be driven at various speeds. It's more complicated than it appears; owing to the sand's fragility, this accomplishment necessitates a unique set of skills and even a unique vehicle!

A caravan frequently engages in dune bashing, doing exciting feats up and down the dunes. For the best experience, aim to get a seat near the window.

  • Have a picnic at sunset

Relax with a beautiful sunset picnic after a full day of activities. This special picnic, replete with soft couches and drinks, is organized by the desert camp. Anyone going on a Dubai Desert Safari should certainly do this!

There are no houses or automobiles in sight; instead, you will meet with towering dunes set against the backdrop of the setting golden yolk in the sky. You will be glad for the opportunity to escape the city's bustle for such impressive tranquility as the sun sank.

  • Be delighted by a variety of shows

One of the highlights is a spirited performance by a fire dancer, who chases death with his fire twirling and dancing. He even blasts a jet of fire from his lips at one point!

The Tanoura dance includes a dancer wearing a colorful, whirling skirt who performs nothing but spins for the length of the performance. It is incredible to observe how the dancer doesn't look dizzy despite the countless rotations; you be out of breath simply watching her spin! During supper, which consisted of a local BBQ and buffet spread, the performances took place irregularly.

  • Get a henna tattoo that is just temporary

The overnight stay includes a complimentary henna session with a selection of patterns from which to choose. You can also pay an extra charge for a more sophisticated or personalized design. Henna tattoos are impermanent and usually endure for two weeks. Take care not to smudge the henna and let it cure completely before flaking off the dried pieces. Otherwise, you'll be left with smudging for two weeks!

  • Sit around the campsite and stare at the stars

Finally, spend the evening huddled around a campfire. We propose going to the desert in the winter when the temperature is approximately 25 degrees at night. Daytime temperatures can reach 41 degrees Celsius during the summer, while nighttime temperatures hover around 30 degrees Celsius. Visiting the desert in the winter is a far more pleasant experience!

The desert sky is usually straightforward, with a blanket of brilliant stars. We recommend bringing some marshmallows to cook around the campfire while attempting to figure out what stars are visible. It'll undoubtedly be a spectacular way to end your Dubai desert adventure!

  • Stay in a rustic, thatched-roof home

Some Desert Safari camps allow visitors to sleep in tents for a more rough experience, but many chose to stay in cute tiny thatched cottages. There is a double bed, a heater, and even running water in each home. It is a good alternative for families or people who don't want to go too far from their everyday comforts.
