Simple rules to learn from your web project mistakes

When you are looking to approach a new business, you can easily fall for ‘desperation’ while going that extra mile. Desperation always leads to you losing out on the deal because it shows up. Today I am going to share some ground mistakes that you can make while handling web projects.

Do not commit your personal time to your professional life

Going for a vacation is always a stress free time. Imagine you have multiple deals running together. Having your vacation with minimal impact, you plan all the interactions during that week. You might think that because of this, the project will not enter submission during that vacation time. Now as your bad luck could have asked for, one of those deals require a demo during the week you are on vacation. You finally decide to stick to their schedule, by deciding to demo when on vacation. But still luck doesn’t favor you. You have got Internet which is less reliable & the only way to call up is by using the hotel phone, at a costly call rate. The work obligation increases your anxiety because of which you do not properly enjoy your leisure time. But somehow you make it work even if the quality of the call went rusty & connection got cut a couple of times. But, still you are appreciated spending your leisure trip on business.

Ultimately you receive bad news after returning back from the vacation that they have chosen another firm to fulfill their requirements that they had previously not mentioned to you. Finally you get pissed off, not because you lose the deal, but because you sacrificed your personal leisure time for nothing.

With this, I present to you the first simple rule, “Do not schedule client commitments sacrificing your personal space.”

Follow a step-by-step sales approach

Clients need a website and see your previous work. They ask you for a personal meeting. You are being assured that you are the front runner for this task. You have also been assured that only one meeting will take place before the decision is made. Instead of going through a proper hierarchical sales approach, you decide to go for such an unnecessary & inconvenient interaction. Now one of their other members on board has a good relation with another company. He ends up funding that local company such as application development for building their site. You might coax yourself at this point, as your systematically organized sales process would have allowed you to build a relationship with people present in that organization rather than interacting with just one person.

This leads to the second simple rule, “Always follow your own code of conduct, even if the opportunity makes a desperate attempt to convince you.”

Learn to say ‘No’

You are being asked to bid for a department project. Because you expect a big opportunity coming your way, you relentlessly agree. They further ask for some sample work of the ideas running in your head. Usually ‘never start with something before signing a contract or getting the compensation.’ But because working with such a big company is alluring, you keep aside the money or the agreement part. The majority of the tasks do not offer you an entry to all the customer stakeholders, and even you have a restricted group of information. Such a task is what people usually want free of charge, or what huge corporations do to take away the ideas. A couple of weeks later you discover that you've missed out the bid as a result of yet another stakeholder who has no connection with the team you had a deal with.

Desk, Lamp, Pens, Pencils, To Design, Cabinet, Color

So here we come to the third & the final simple rule, “Don’t break your code of conduct without being confident regarding the authenticity of your prospects.”

Filtered Desperation

Virtually every desperation act of offering sites letting customers know their importance rather than your own personal time fails. It is recommended to generate principles of restriction and defend your time. Inform people at the start to follow your method or let them walk away. Do not receive calls when spending your personal time, and also never function without being paid. If they don't really like any one of that, chances are they aren't an excellent match for you. But majority of clients, in reality, will enjoy your rigid function rules. They'll take your work seriously and respect your own time, pricing your accessibility and providing value to your schedule. Following these essentials will help you to get far more business.

Get Online Success in Business by Offline Activities

Do you have an online business? Then do not put all your efforts in online activities, put your smart brain into some offline activities too, because both online and offline give you a successful brand on the web.

After reading this sentence, you may think about doing business courses for offline; but I assure you, there are some offline promotional tactics which will give more wing to your online business than digital marketing and you will get more returns on a small investment.

If you believe that your success is in your hands then follow the points below. So let’s enter into the world of offline promotion to make your online business better.

Business Card

Make your business card now if you do not have one and circulate it to new people who belong to your niche. It does not matter how old a style you are using for business; do not forget to distribute it. I believe that it is better to do something rather than do nothing.

Attend Events

For me it is a very important point, because I have had good experience with it. Whenever you find any niche events near to you then you should go there to meet new and related people. Here you can do word of mouth branding as well as distribute your business cards and for that you should participate in it actively.

Are You A Professor?

Marketing is all about describing your product and services properly, so be a professor and explain your services or product. If you are able to convince people about your product/service then they will become customers. In addition, you should have the power to say something in front of a crowd, I mean be an impressive public speaker too because such a quality will induce people to find you on the web.

Make a Local Store of Ideas

Open a discussion forum where you let people share their thoughts and ideas for content. If published in a book or/and magazine it would be helpful and stir curiosity and attention. Do not publish it on the web

Communication

Use your phone to communicate with niche users. If you are organizing an event then drop a message or call people personally to attend your event. It will create a good impression on the people and make them understand that you are serious about your business.

Conclusion

Go outside for offline activities because you won’t able to get niche people inside your home. The more people you meet the more feedback and ideas you will get about your business. By engaging and communicating with people offline, you can target more audiences and drive them all to your blog, social media and other online activities.
