World of Warcraft Time Gating Allows Enough Time to Enjoy All the Content

In World of Warcraft, although Time Gating is annoying to players, it is very practical because it allows enough time to enjoy all the content.
The criticism of World of Warcraft is as old as the game itself. Logically. When the game reaches millions of people, not everyone is satisfied with everything-it is simply impossible. A game as big as World of Warcraft is even more difficult. It not only provides PvE, but also PvP and a lot of possible "secondary content", such as pet battles, success, role-playing, transmogrification collections, or particularly large stable and complete mounts.
But one point of criticism has become particularly loud with Shadowlands. Time gating.
It is vilified by many gamers and - once again - referred to as the downfall of World of Warcraft. I, on the other hand, find time gating really useful because it fulfills a lot of positive things for me.
What is time gating? There is probably no exact definition of it and the perception also differs somewhat here. Roughly, however, it can be said that "time gating" means that not all content can be played immediately and that there are different hurdles. These hurdles are often created in such a way that only certain progress can be achieved in a certain period of time.
Currently in WoW: Shadowlands this is mainly the unlocking of the fame levels, the associated bonuses through soul bonds and the unlocking of the story campaign.
I play a lot - so time gating is less of a problem
Of course, I have to say that I currently have a pretty busy schedule in World of Warcraft. Twice a week there is raid in the evening and on two additional days dungeons are mastered on "Mythic +", Tazavesh is visited or successes are collected. This means that a large part of the week is planned for me and I am quite busy.
While raiding we are still on normal difficulty and slowly feel our way towards heroic, while in the "Mythic +" area we are currently only running 12 to 14 keystones. We are nowhere near in the field of pro gamers, but also far from the casual gamer who never sets foot in "Mythic +" and only knows raids from the LFR.
Or to put it another way: I assume that I belong to the "main mass" of WoW players who have a lot of fun in the Shadowlands and who can enjoy most of the content. The part of the player base who doesn't grumble at every little detail and calls every nerf or every little mechanic the downfall of WoW and repeatedly loses control in the subreddit.
The more content I like in World of Warcraft, the more time gating helps me and ensures that I can stay on the ball everywhere.
With that I don't mean to say that there is not exactly justified criticism of WoW - there has always been and there is also in Shadowlands. But the more I read that time gating is the downfall of the game and that you “will definitely cancel your subscription soon”, the more I have to roll my eyes.
I understand if time-gating is displeasing to players who are only interested in one type of content. If you just want to experience the pure story, the week of waiting, which at the end of almost an hour delivers quests, is of course quite long.
However, if you enjoy a lot of different game content, the time-gating is definitely a good option.
Time gating has always existed, 16 years ago
My final point to point out: time gating is nothing new. It has always been a part of World of Warcraft and many other MMORPGs and is not a new phenomenon. Just two examples from World of Warcraft Classic:
Even then, you could only get loot from a raid dungeon once a week. If all bosses were defeated, you had to wait until the next reset. This, too, is time gating in terms of equipment. You couldn't repeat the raid endlessly until you were perfectly equipped.
At that time there was time gating, especially in the Blackwing Lair. Because so that all players had an onyxia scale cloak, the dragon lady had to be farmed for many weeks, even if she was extremely easy to defeat at the time. That is also time gating.
Of course, time gating isn't always good just because it's always been part of the game. But for me it just belongs to this genre. It gives me a clear framework of what I definitely “have to do” each week in order not to be a burden for my teammates. Enough WOW TBC Gold is needed.
At the same time, it keeps the content fresh for me. I like to see a new story chapter every week that tells the attack against the jailer and his plans.
With series and anime, I like to "binge" an entire season, but with an MMORPG like World of Warcraft, which is designed to be played for weeks and months anyway, I like the little story units that are too bring something new in week 9 after a patch and loosen up everyday life between M +, raids and reputation grind.
But how do you see that? Do you think time gating is okay? Or does that bother you massively and rob you of the fun? There are some TBC Classic Gold for Sale on z2u site, cheap and safe.
