I 100% believe this was true in Hearthstone. I have WOW Burning Crusade Classic Gold not played in a very long time but back when they first started incorporating cards there would be a few brand new broken strategy everyone needed to play Blizzard sat around for months stating everything was fine prior to waiting to launch some half-assed counter in the next expansion. When it failed that they finally delivered a balance patch to fix the original matter. I'm positive people stuck around just to see if the new cards would alter whatever so the player numbers were fostered.

Agree. I really do think there is an element of this devs fooling themselves into thinking their"systems" and content are kind of fun. They certainly"overdesign", starting with the rewards and working backward from there rather than really thinking if the systems themselves are enjoyable.

However, in BFA, everyone knew Azerite armor was crap in beta and blizzard said dont worry we've got fixes in shop. In Beta shamans were terrible and had several bugs and problems which weren't addressed. The initial tier comes around and rather than them fixing shamans they say the initial patch Shamans will be repaired. So they somehow made insect fixing shamans a content feature in the first significant patch in an attempt to keep people subscribed or deliver them back to the game.

I have and never will understand why they keep shooting themselves in the foot like that. Wouldn't expanding upon a system rather than scrapping it and doing something else be better for them? They would spare time not having to design a whole new system, and most of the time the machine they are actually currently using, they've just spent annually fixing. Why go through that cycle again instead of using the system.

As much as BFA was awful, the HoA wasn't a bad system when they fixed it up and they could have easily done more with that moving into Shadowlands.

Why have we gone through 4 iterations of garrisons now? Why don't you just base it SW/ORG and enlarge it with every new xpac instead of moving from Garrisons into Order Halls to this fucking boat to Covenants. Take a garrison type instance in SW/ORG. Plan about it being used longer term, new expansion released and you can construct the expansion special building that'll advance the story. Or the NPCs just show up to cheap WOW TBC Classic Gold progress the narrative. Having it as an example in the large cities will fix the"everyone is in their own garrison" problem.
