The Red Sox are back in action this afternoon against the Rays when they square off behind Nathan Eovaldi this afternoon at 1:05 p in Fort Myers. This one will be on NESN.Last time out, Eovaldi cruised through two innings before running into some trouble in the third and fourth innings. He ended up giving up four earned runs over four, which isn ideal, but there still a couple weeks to go. Per Baseball Savant, he only got two swings-and-misses on his four-seam fastball, which is a little concerning, but he also did this:That good eatin? The man just wakes up throwing triple digits, and we love him for it, some more than others. He be followed on the mound today by Garrett Whitlock, Adam Ottavino, A.J. Politi, Ryan Weber and Raynel Espinal.Xander Bogaerts is back in the field after his season debut at shortstop, while Jarren Duran, who was optioned to minor-league camp yesterday, gets the start in center. FWIW: Reminder that players reassigned to the Minors can still appear in Spring Training games. So while this means Jarren Duran will open the 2021 season at the alt site, he is likely to see more time in Florida and can still push for an early call-up from there.
