Mountain climbing

The cable car ride up to 925 meters above sea level allows you to leave the fog behind and start your journey from Vordergeisboden. Here you can prepare for the onward route, passing two "Tankfallen" associated with the history of the Second World War before reaching Scheftboden. This place is known for its night cross-country ski trail, accessible every day.

Moving on, you will encounter the most challenging section of the trail, the ascent from Hintergeisboden to Ewegstafel. As you pass this trail, you will be surrounded by scenic terrain with magnificent views of Rigi, Uri Rothstock and other peaks.

Buschenchappeli Chapel

Reaching Frühbühel, a former military prison camp now converted into a research station, will offer another spectacular panoramic view. Continuing upwards, you will reach the Buschenchappeli Chapel and the mountain restaurant Pfaffenboden, the highest point on the trail.

After a short loop, the trail will begin to descend past Buschenchappeli, offering a spectacular descent back to Frühbühel. Eventually, after passing Neuweidschuhr, you will end your journey in Vordergeisboden, feeling the fullness of an amazing winter adventure.

The Zug ski trail in Switzerland not only offers a physical challenge, but also a unique opportunity to enjoy the natural beauty and historical sights of the region.
