Today we have to talk about a new sustainable means of transport. Its name is CityQ and it is something like a pedal car but powered by an electric motor. CityQ is a four-wheel cycle, two seats and an open cabin with a windshield and roof.

Responsible for providing turning force to the wheels is a 250 W electric motor mounted on the rear axle.

The interesting thing about the CityQ is that it does not have a battery, but two independent batteries. One is powered by an alternator activated by pedalling and the other is recharged by connecting it to the electrical network. The pedals never directly move the wheels.

Its measurements are contained although not too compact for the type of vehicle it is. It is 222 cm long by 87 wide and 155 high and can support a load of up to 300 kg.

Keeping the dimensions contained and the power figure below 250 W, the CityQ manages to be homologated as a cycle, sharing a category with electric bicycles.

With the advantages of a small car and those of a bicycle, the price of the CityQ is not exactly accessible either: 7,450 euros.
