From Dhotrey, it is about a Three-day hike to reach Sandakphu. The first day of the trek is relatively easy, but the second day involves a steep ascent of nearly 1,000 Feets.

The best time to trek is from March to June or from October to March. These months offer the best weather conditions for hiking, with clear skies and mild temperatures. Avoid trekking during the monsoon season from June to September, as the trails can be wet and slippery.
