Can other electric vehicles use Tesla chargers?
Currently, Tesla chargers are specifically designed for Tesla vehicles and use proprietary EV charger cables. While Tesla has its Supercharger network, other electric vehicles (EV) generally cannot use these chargers without adapters. Most non-Tesla EV’s follow standardised charging protocols like CCS or CHAdeMO, differing from Tesla’s proprietary connector. However, third-party adaptors may allow limited compatibility, emphasising the importance of researching specific EV charger cable types to ensure seamless charging for various electric vehicle models.
