Cowher was the ' defensive coordinator for three years before being named as Noll's succe sor in 1992. The Steelers-Browns rivalry has had three notable skirmishes. The first occurred in 1976 when Joe "Turkey" Jones spiked Steelers quarterback Terry Bradshaw on his head during Cleveland's Week 5 win over the defending two-time champions.
