Ferolite produces a variety of gasket products for marine equipment, including Ferolite Sheets made from aramid fibre, mineral fibre, cellulose fibre, organic fibre, and NBR. In this article, we will look at the various applications for Roma Enterprises' Ferolite Non-Asbestos Jointing Sheets.

Ferolite 30Y NAM

Ferolite NAM 30Y is constructed with aramid fibre, mineral fibre, and NBR. It is commonly used in oil resistant gasket material for medium to high loading because of its resistance to water, gases, oils, and fuels. It is a common sealant used in compressors, pipelines, transmission, gas metres, and internal combustion engines.

Operating Situation

Peak temperature: 400°C
Continuous maximum temperature: 250°C
Continuous maximum temperature with steam: 220°C
The maximum operating pressure is 100 kg/cm2.

Ferolite 39 NAM

NAM 39 ferolite is composed of cellulose fibre, mineral fibre, organic fibre, and NBR. It is a water / oil gasket material for light to medium loading that is used on easily deformable components with low surface pressure, such as valve covers and pans in internal combustion engines. It is frequently used for low operating pressure, e.g. transformers, compressors.

Operating Situation

Peak temperature: 250°C
Continuous maximum temperature: 180°C
Maximum continuous temperature with steam: 120°C
The maximum operating pressure is 50 kg/cm2.

333 Ferolite

Ferolite 333 is a Compressed Asbestos Fiber (CAF) composed of chrysotile asbestos fibre and synthetic and natural elastomers, as well as inorganic fillers. Ferolite 33 has a thickness of 0.40 mm to 6.00 mm and a surface finish of red and grey graphite. It is commonly used to seal off steam, air, water, and other alkaline chemicals under low stress conditions.

Operating Situation

Maximum pressure: 35 kPa Maximum temperature: 380oC

Ferolite Steel

Ferolite 333 is a Compressed Asbestos Fiber (CAF) composed of chrysotile asbestos fibre, synthetic and natural elastomers, and a corrosion-resistant metal gauge centre. It is used for low and medium stress conditions, similar to Ferolite 333, and is suitable for sealing off steam, air, water, and various alkaline chemicals. It has a thickness of 0.08mm to 6.00mm and a grey graphite surface finish.

Operating Situation

Maximum pressure is 80 kg/cm2 and the maximum temperature is 415°C.
Maximum Constant Temperature: 200°C
