How do I take a 200 mg molnupiravir capsule?

Take this medication by mouth and without food, usually every morning and evening, 12 hours apart, for 5 days. Take the capsules whole. The tablets should not be opened, broken, or crushed. If you are unable to swallow the capsules whole, notify your doctor. Your medical condition and your response to treatment determine the dosage.

Continue to take this medication for the entire recommended duration. Stopping the medication too soon may allow the virus to grow, resulting in a relapse of the infection or failure to protect you from the virus.

Inform your doctor if your condition persists or worsens.

 

Precautions of Molnupiravir 200 mg Capsule tablets

Before taking Molnupiravir 200 mg capsules, tell your doctor if you have any allergies. Inactive ingredients in this product can cause allergic reactions or other problems.

There is currently little information available about other medical conditions that may affect how molnupiravir works or how molnupiravir may affect other medical conditions.

Before using this medication, inform your doctor or pharmacist about your medical history.

To stop the virus from spreading, continue to self-isolate, wear a mask, practice physical distancing, wash hands, and not share personal items.

Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or intend to become pregnant. It is not advised to become pregnant while taking molnupirvir (200 mg). Molnupiravir has the potential to harm an unborn baby. Before you start taking this medicine, your doctor may do a pregnancy test. Inquire about effective birth control methods while taking this medication and for 4 days after your last dose of Molanupiravir 200 mg. If you become pregnant, consult your doctor right away about the risks and benefits of this medicine.

It is unknown whether this medicine has any effect on sperm. Men who have a female partner of childbearing age should inquire about the use of reliable forms of birth control while taking this drug and for three months after stopping treatment.

It is unknown whether the molnupiravir capsule effect passes into breast milk. Breastfeeding is not recommended while using this medication and for 4 days after stopping it because of the potential risk to the infant. Ask your doctor whether you should pump and discard your breast milk during the molnupiravir capsules 200 mg treatment and for 4 days after your last dose of this medicine.
