MCIWEM (Membership) is a non-chartered grade of membership that is available for those professionals working at an operational level and pursuing a career path in the water and environmental sector.

This grade comes with formal recognition of your attainments and allows you to have experiences and engage with people that will continue your development and broaden your network. You will be provided with valuable expert structure and support which will ensure your professional growth without being negatively affected by your day-to-day work.

Eligibility criteria for Membership:

This designation is perfect for recent entrants into the industry and still working hard to develop competency. It may happen that you have more experience than a graduate, but less than that required for a chartership.

Do you have each of the following?

An honours degree or NEBOSH Diploma in Environmental Management

Demonstrable post-graduate experience in water or/and environmental management over a minimum of 2 years

If yes, then you can start your application for MCIWEM status.

Benefits of membership:

1.   Professional competency recognition:

Attaining the status will come with global recognition, as it is an instant badge of competence and integrity for clients, colleagues and future employers.

2.   Improvement in your skills and employability:

It will enable you to use CIWEM’s professional development planning tools to support your career and grow in your field, which will also improve your employability.

3.   Attain expertise:

You will have access to a wide range of content and services to fulfill your development requirements and build your expertise. They include good practice guides, technical papers, online publications and CPD relevant events.

Access to a global professional network:

The membership will allow you to have access to a supportive and influential network of professionals. Through the regional branches, you can network with like-minded professionals at events taking place near you. With the topic-specific networks of CIWEM, you can make valuable connections all over your areas of interest. Thus, you can prepare yourself for The Chartered Water and Environmental Manager qualification (MCIWEM C.WEM).

A chance to broaden your horizon:

You will be able to sort out day-to-day work issues by means of accessible, informative and trustworthy information and advice. With your subscription to The Environmental Magazine, policy position statements, journals and case studies, membership will allow you to have many practical tools that will support your work.
