When asked in an interview during an interview with P2Pah, WoW production director Pat Dawson wouldn't say. Normally by WoTLK Gold the time the last content update for an expansion is released players know what the next expansion will bring thanks because of an earlier announcement and the accompanying cinematic that Blizzard has rolled out at its annually held BlizzCon event. BlizzCon however, will not be happening this year probably due to a range of reasons ranging from COVID-19 pandemic to ongoing discrimination and harassment investigation. No announcements regarding future expansions have been made. This leaves a huge open question about patch 9.2 and the end of the Shadowlands story.

For the first time in a long time gamers will head to the end of an expansion with no clue about what's next as well as the actual boss encounters and how the story will unfold.

"People aren't aware of the mechanics and they haven't heard the plot," Dawson said when asked if the end of the new Sepulcher of the First Ones raid could give players a an idea of what the next expansion is going to be. "They do not know what's likely to take place. It's a great moment. In the future, we're constantly working on new ideas. I think right now we're really focused on the end of this story , and providing a satisfying ending with the Jiler."

While a significant portion of the forthcoming raid has been analyzed, combed through, and tested by the WoW community using the game's test world The players will be in totally green for the raid's three final bosses.

"They weren't yet on the PTR There aren't a bunch of mods written for it, or any strategies already written down," Dawson said. "People aren't quite sure of what they're going to discover. There's plenty of adventure and exploration ahead at the conclusion of this raid."

The other element that adds to the insanity is the fact that players need to wait another week before they can confront the Jailer. The raid is set to begin in March (a week after 9.2's release on 22 February) The final three bosses will be unveiled on March 8. This means that it'll take several weeks before players know the conclusion of the story and the fate of characters such as JAILER and buy WoTLK Gold Sylvanas two of the most prominent characters in Shadowlands which have caused division within the game's communities.
