It also stated that any future announcements about various Blizzard franchises would be released through franchise channels approved by the franchise and with the BlizzCon team supporting those efforts.
 
 
 This means it could mean that news such as World of Warcraft's next expansion is expected to be in the near future, as well as updates on the current state of Diablo 2. and how Diablo IV is shaping up (just to name just a few) are no longer attached to major fan events rather, they can be made available whenever the teams working on the project are in the process of completing. The reality that Blizzard had a flurry of tweets indicating that they were developing a brand new survival game IP is proof from the reality that these types of announcements can be made at any time.
