Chandrabhaga Beach is situated three km east of the Sun temple of Konark, in the Puri district in the state of Odisha, India. The abode of the magnificent Sun Temple, the beach is known for its stunning sunrise and sunset. This sea beach is named after the Chandrabhaga river which joins the sea here. Every year on the 7th full moon day of Magha month ( local calendar ) special Puja is organized here and many visit this beach on this day to take bath ( holy dip ) in seawater. During this period, the Tourism Department of the Government of Odisha organizes a Sand Art competition for people all around the world.
