Making your own DIY eyeshadow palette at home can be an enjoyable and rewarding process, and this is true regardless of whether you have sensitive skin, want to avoid chemicals, or just like to experiment with different colors and textures. There are a number of distinct approaches to making your own eyeshadow, and each one calls for a unique combination of components and yields a distinctive set of results. After the break, you will find detailed instructions for a variety of different procedures.

1. The Application of Mica Powders

Purchase a variety of different mica powders. Mica powder used in cosmetics is a very fine mineral powder that can be purchased online, in stores that sell beauty supplies, and even in a few specialized supermarkets.

Mica powder is available in a dizzying array of hues, can have shimmer to it or not, and can be purchased in a range of quantities. Although you can make eyeshadow by using a single color of mica powder, you can create more unique and unusual shades by blending a number of different mica powders together. This will allow you to create a wider range of colors.

Make sure that the mica powder you purchase is intended for use in cosmetics and that it is safe to use near your eyes.

Make a loose powder eyeshadow. Blending together various mica powders until you achieve the desired color is all that is required to make a basic DIY eyeshadow palette that is in the form of a loose powder.

For instance, if you wanted to create a warm shade with an autumnal vibe, you could make it by combining mica powders in shades of light brown, dark brown, gold, cream, and orange. You could combine blue, green, and silver mica powders to get a shimmering aquamarine color if that's what you were going for.

In order to achieve a color that is consistent throughout, you will need to weigh out equal amounts of each mica powder. To accomplish this, you can either use the.15-cc pigment scoop that is typically included with the mica powders or a small measuring spoon instead. Both of these options are available to you. As long as you use an equal amount of each powder, the quantity of either one of them that you use is irrelevant.

Put the powders in an empty lip balm container, whether it's an old one you've cleaned out or one you've purchased online, and mix them thoroughly to combine. To accomplish this task, you can either use a small herb or coffee grinder, as some people prefer, or you can simply use a spoon. When you are finished, be sure to secure the lid by tightly screwing it on; you don't want the powder to get everywhere!

Create an eyeshadow using pressed powder. If you want to make pressed powder eyeshadow, like the kind that comes in eyeshadow palettes, you will need to follow the same process as described for making loose powder eyeshadow first, and then finish a few additional steps, including the following:

After you have combined your mica powders to create the desired color, you will need to add a powder binder. Powder binders typically come in the form of a spray or a liquid and can be purchased online.

After adding the powder binder to the mica mixture one drop at a time (or one spray at a time), thoroughly combine the two ingredients until the mixture has the consistency of wet sand.

Move the wet powder to an empty lip balm container, place a piece of paper towel directly over the eye shadow, and then place a coin on top of the paper towel. The coin can be any coin, but you should try to find one that is roughly the same size as the lip balm container.

Press down on the coin in a measured manner so that the shadow beneath it can be compressed. Continue doing this until the top of the shadow has been pressed in its entirety. Keep the eye shadow out in the open on a counter while covering it with a sheet of paper towel until the powder has completely dried. Your pressed eyeshadow will be ready for use as soon as it has dried completely.

Create an ODM Eyeshadow Palette that is a cream. Using mica powders to create a cream shadow is a process that is slightly more complicated and requires several additional ingredients. Nevertheless, by utilizing this technique, you will be able to produce a hue that is significantly more vibrant.

You will need the following items to make this cream eyeshadow:8 white beeswax pastilles, 1 teaspoon of refined shea butter, 24 drops of refined jojoba oil, 120 drops of vegetable glycerin, 12 drops of vitamin E oil, and 2 1/4 teaspoons of mica powder (in a single color or a combination of colors) are the ingredients that should be used.

  • Shea butter and beeswax should be combined in a small bowl before being melted in the microwave for one to two minutes

  • The jojoba oil, vegetable glycerin, and vitamin E oil should each be added to the bowl using a plastic pipette that holds 3 milliliters (0

  • 10 fl oz) and is labeled with its respective ingredient

After you have achieved a consistency that is consistent throughout, add the mica powder to the bowl and mix it thoroughly to combine all of the ingredients. Move the creamy mixture into an empty lip balm container, replace the lid securely, and wait at least 24 hours before applying or using the lip balm.

2. The employment of shea butter and arrowroot powder

Collect all of your necessary components. You will need the following things in order to make an easy, creamy eyeshadow using only natural colors and ingredients:

Powder made from arrowroot and shea butter that has been refined are the two ingredients that make up the base of the eyeshadow.

Natural coloring agents include cocoa powder, turmeric, dried beet powder, allspice, and nutmeg. The color of the eyeshadow you create will depend on which natural coloring agent you use.

Mix the constituent parts together. Put between a quarter and a half teaspoon of arrowroot powder in the smaller bowl. The amount you use will depend on how much eyeshadow you want to make.

Mix in the coloring agent of your choice with the arrowroot powder until you achieve a color that is uniform and consistent throughout. The amount of coloring agent you use will depend on how intense you want the color to be.

In the bowl, place the shea butter, and using the back of a spoon, cream the powder and shea butter together until the mixture is smooth and creamy.

Move the eyeshadow to an empty lip balm container and replace the lid on the container so that it is secure.

Explore a variety of color schemes through experimentation. Even though each of the coloring agents that have been described above is capable of producing a pretty eyeshadow on its own, you should still try mixing different colors together in order to produce an eyeshadow that has more dimension.

Make a pretty light pink eyeshadow by combining cocoa powder and dried beet powder in equal parts.

Create a rich mauve-colored  custom eyeshadow palette by combining cocoa powder, allspice, and dried beet powder in a mixing bowl.

The color of a warm golden brown can be achieved by combining nutmeg and turmeric.

If you want your eyeshadow to be yellow, you should use turmeric powder.

3. Making Use of Charcoal

Spend some money on some charcoal capsules. Although activated charcoal capsules are typically prescribed for the treatment of stomach aches and gas, they can also be used to create a smoky black eyeshadow that is completely risk-free and free of any chemical additives. These capsules are readily available in drug stores and online.

Open the capsules with a knife. Make small cuts in the capsules with your fingers, then carefully empty the contents of the black powder into an empty lip gloss container.

Continue doing this either until the custom eyeshadow palette container is only halfway full or until you have reached the desired amount.

After you have finished using the charcoal powder, make sure to replace the lid on the container as securely as possible.

Put in some color here. Even though charcoal powder cannot be used to make eyeshadow in any bright colors, it can be combined with shimmering mica powders to make a glittery black shadow, or with powdered spirulina to give the shadow a greenish undertone.

You can either use it as an  or as an eyeliner. The powdered activated charcoal can be used as an eyeshadow by blending it into the eyelid with a rounded eyeshadow brush, or it can be used as a black eyeliner by mixing it with a little water to create a paste and applying it that way. Both applications require an  brush.
