This step should be followed with a detailed business plan. Then, you can begin to choose a business model and focus on various exit strategies. For example, many first-time investors choose to start out wholesaling as a way to get their feet wet in the industry. Other options include rehabbing or buy-and-hold strategies.

Real estate is a very flexible field, but one that requires a lot of personal interaction. As a real estate agent, you'll be dealing directly with your clients.
