Apple introduced four new iPhone models: the iPhone 12 mini, the iPhone 12 Pro, and the iPhone 12 Pro Max. The display size, battery life, materials used, and camera capabilities distinguish each model.

The iPhone 12 includes several new features and updates, including a new design, new colors, improved cameras, and a faster processor. Apple placed the lineup as "iPhone for everyone," with the most diverse range of screen sizes and color options to date.

Display

This is the first iPhone generation in which OLED is available on all models. The display employs Apple's Super Retina XDR technology, which boasts a two-million-to-one contrast ratio, improved HDR, and true blacks. It has a 460ppi resolution and can display HDR content at up to 1200 nits. The 6.1-inch display is not new to the base model, but the flat bezels and improved design allow for a higher screen-to-body ratio. The new Ceramic Shield on the display increases durability when dropped. When compared to older models, the temperature crystallization process used to toughen the glass improves drop protection by up to 4 times.

Wireless 5G Capabilities

5G will boost the performance of broadcasting, videogames, and workloads. All new iPhone 12 models get both versions of 5G in the US, but only sub-6GHz elsewhere. During ideal conditions, Verizon 5G ultra-wideband provides 4Gbps download and 200 Mbps upload. By the end of the year, the network will have expanded to 60 cities. Verizon's standard 5G network is also launching, providing users with a widely available network at the outset.

MagSafe

For the iPhone 12 lineup, MagSafe is back. In the new lineup, Apple has included a magnetic charging and accessory solution, allowing users to attach charging pads, swap cases, or battery packs.

Bionic A14

The A14 Bionic is a 5-nanometer Apple Silicon processor designed specifically for the A14 Bionic. It has over 11.8 billion transistors and a 50% faster CPU and GPU than other manufacturers' smartphone chips. If you search you can get easily iPhone 12 rental UK services.

Camera System

The iPhone 12 is the first smartphone to support HDR video with Dolby Vision grading. Filmmakers will be able to create videos in 4K HDR with Dolby Vision, which has never been possible on an iPhone before. There are two 12-megapixel rear cameras — one wide and one ultra-wide. The layout is the same as the iPhone 11, but both lenses have a wider aperture. The f/1.6 aperture on the Wide Camera improves on the f/1.8 aperture on the iPhone 11. This allows for 27% more light, resulting in better low-light photos and videos.

The A14 Bionic processor vastly improves computational photography—Deep Fusion and Night Mode work on all cameras, including the front-facing selfie camera.
