It will only cool to about 70-75 degrees when I turn on the AC. The fan works fine, and the compressor is running.

I have a Carrier A/C unit installed in my home in August 2007. It had worked great for years until recently when it started acting up.

I first noticed that the temperature gauge would not go below 75degrees. I called the service department at Carrier, and they told me this could be caused by a bad thermostat or an air conditioner filter. They replaced both but still no luck.

The next problem was that the system would shut off after about 30 minutes of operation. It happened several times over two weeks. After calling the service department again and saying this could be due to a bad capacitor. They replaced the capacitor, and the problem went away.

The last issue is that the system won't start back up if the outside temperature drops below 50 degrees. If I try to start it manually, it starts right up. However, if I leave it on all night with the heat set to auto, then the following day, the system won't start.

They are fixing An Air Conditioner not cooling below 75 or 80Degrees.

If you are having problems cooling your house below 75 degrees, there are some things that you can do to fix the problem. First, make sure that the condenser coil is clean. You should also check the drain pan for any water buildup. If you find anything like this, you need to call a professional to come out and care for the problem.

Next, you may want to change the refrigerant charge. You will need to remove the evaporator core from the air conditioning unit. Then, you will need to disconnect the power supply to the air conditioning unit. Finally, you will need to replace the old refrigerant charge with a new one. Once you have done this, reconnect the power supply to the unit and let it run for a few hours before turning it back on.

If you are experiencing problems cooling your house below 80 degrees, you may consider replacing the expansion valve. It is something that you can do yourself. All you need to do is unscrew the expansion valve cover and pull it out. Then, you will want to look inside the valve itself. If you see any debris in the valve, you will need to clean it. If you don't, you might end up damaging the valve.

Another way to help keep your house more relaxed is by installing ceiling fans. Ceiling fans are very effective at moving warm air down towards the floor. It helps to reduce the amount of hot air circulating in your house.

Finally, you may want to think about installing a programmable thermostat. These devices allow you to control the temperature of your house based on what time of day it is. For example, you can set the thermostat to automatically lower the temperature during the evening so that you don't have to worry about waking up to a cold house.

Reasons Your Air Conditioner Isn't Cooling to or Below Your Set Temperature.

Here are many reasons why your air conditioner isn't working correctly. One reason could be that the compressor has failed. Another possibility is that the fan motor has stopped running. A third possible cause is that the condensing unit has been damaged. In addition, you may have a dirty air filter. There are other possibilities as well.

First, turn off the power switch to determine whether your air conditioner is operating correctly. Next, open the door to the outdoor unit and look at the blower wheel. The blower wheel should be spinning freely. If it isn't, you probably have an electrical problem.

If you still aren't getting cool air into your home, you may have a problem with the indoor coil. Yet, you will need to contact a professional to repair the system.

If you are having trouble keeping your house cool, you may want to try using a humidifier instead of an air conditioner. Humidifiers work by adding moisture to the air. They are usually placed near windows where they can add humidity to the atmosphere.

You may also consider purchasing a dehumidifier if you live in a dry climate. Dehumidifiers use a fan to blow outside air through a wet chamber. It allows them to suck in moist air and then expel it.

In short, the air conditioner won't cool below 75F, a common problem people face when trying to cool their homes. For more information, visit our site.
