Single-Stage Air Compressors
Air compressors work differently and the design accounts for the differences. The piston-based air compressors have two types of cycles. It works by compressing air in only one stage. When the crankshaft has a full stroke rotation and generates enough power for a private home use an air compressor.
It works as the rotor spins the piston up and down, pulling in atmospheric air into the compression chamber using the open valves. When the piston moves back up again, the air is compressed before being pushed out of the chamber. The pressurized air is then directed out of the compressor as output.
Two-Stage Air Compressors
The two-stage piston compressor works with two cylinders. The first piston works to compress the air into a small cylinder where it is compressed further using another piston. The two-stage compressor makes it possible to compress air further under high pressure. However, the air is cooled while in transit from one compressor piston to the next without it it will overheat and break down.
