According to the Gemological Institute of America, a Hope Diamond is an "antique brilliant cut cushion diamond." This Hope Diamond weighs 45.52 carats. Furthermore, Hope Diamond (Antique Cushion) was founded at Kullur Mines in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, INDIA.

According to the Hope Diamond Report, it was founded towards the end of the 17th century. Jean-Baptiste Tavernier, a French gem trader, acquired a hope diamond in 1666. However, he was perplexed by the gems' unmatched parallel facets. Jean-Baptiste made the decision to recut the antique cushion shape diamond.

Cursed Diamond

Because of its history of misfortune, the Hope Diamond is regarded as one of the most cursed diamonds in the world. It is also one of the most expensive diamonds in the world. The last private owner of the diamond, an American socialite called Evalyn McLean, lost her daughter to a drug overdose, her son in a vehicle accident, and her husband left her for another woman.

The Hope Diamond was sold by the trustees of her estate to Harry Winston, who later gave it to the Smithsonian Institution. It is still there now, so you may see the Hope Diamond’s unusual, deep blue color whenever you want.
