Rick Porcello remains flawless at Fenway

Rick Porcello's career year continued Tuesday night with a dominant performance against the Yankees.
The Red Sox right-hander allowed two runs and seven hits over eightinnings in a 5-2 victory over New York at Fenway Park. He struck out six and walked one.

Porcellotied the Blue Jays' J.A. Happ and the Nationals' Stephen Strasburg for the major leaguelead with his 15th victory. The 15 wins tiea career high for Porcello, who went 15-13 for the Tigers in 2014. He's 15-3 with a 3.40 ERA this season. Tuesday's win also was the 100th of his career.
Porcello, 27, has been untouchable at home this season; he improved to 11-0 at Fenway on Tuesday.
It looked like White Sox Randall Cobb Jerseys ace Chris Sale would join Porcello in the 15-win club, but Sale took a no-decision in Chicago's 7-5, 10-inning victory over the Royals in Kansas City. The Royals were down to their final out beforeAlcides Escobar hit an RBI single in the bottom of the ninth off White Sox closer David Robertson. It was the fifth blown save for Robertson, who got the victory after Todd Frazier delivered a three-run homer for the Jordan Love Jerseys White Sox in the top of the 10th. Sale allowed three runs and seven hits over seven innings, with seven strikeouts.
Happ will go for his 16th victory Wednesday against theRays.

With his 10 strikeouts in Tuesday's 3-1 lo s to the Indians, Nationals pitcher Max Scherzer now has 208 on the season. He joins the Mariners' Felix Hernandez, Dodgers ace ClaytonKershaw and the Tigers' JustinVerlander as active pitchers with five straight 200-K seasons. Scherzer took a no-hitter into the seventh inning; Francisco Lindor broke it up with a one-out single. Lindor later scored on a double by Jose Ramirez, who was then driven in by Lonnie Chisenhall.
Indians manager Terry Francona was not in the dugout for Cleveland's 3-1 Isaiah McDuffie Jerseys victory overthe Nationals after complaining of chest pains before the game. Francona felt better before the first pitch and remained at the stadium. Indians bench coach Brad Mills filled in for Francona.
Rangers first baseman/designated hitter Prince Fielder has a pre s conference scheduled Wednesday. Fielder is expected to announce he is stepping away from baseball after a second neck surgery on July 29 to repair a herniated disk. If his baseball career is over, Fielder, 32, will finish with319 homers, 1,028 RBIs, a .283 average and a .506 slugging percentage over 12 MLB seasons.

Tigers (61-52) at Mariners (59-53) 10:10 p.m. ET Both teams' aces will be on the hill Wednesday night at Safeco Field. Seattle will send Felix Hernandez (6-4, 3.55) to the mound while Justin Verlander (12-6, 3.52) will toe the rubber for the Tigers. The two will square off one night after the Mariners rallied twice against the Tigers' bullpen to win 6-5 in 15 innings.
