Best Wireless Karaoke Microphone
It seems like a fairly obvious question, but you would be surprised how many people don’t ask. “What’s the best wireless karaoke microphone?” Or better yet, “what should I buy?”
I could give you the answer to both questions in a few sentences. There are some really good microphones out there, but when it comes to picking one for your studio (and there are some surprisingly good ones), you need to know about spectral response and dynamic range.
With this in mind, let me introduce you to my favorite microphone of all time: M-Audio MobilePre. The MobilePre is an incredibly versatile audio interface with a built-in microphone and a headphone jack — that means that its power needs very little power supply. Its mic has been optimized for mobile use, with low noise and low sensitivity, so it can be used anywhere — even when far from the mics on other devices (which is why it works on iOS as well as Android); the headphones have been made specifically for mobile use; and it has an impressive 20 hours battery life.
The biggest drawback of this product is that its price doesn’t reflect its capabilities; its $1,000 price tag is more like $600-$800 in today’s market place. If you were looking for a similar device which had more functionality at half the price or just higher quality audio from your mobile device, then there are plenty of options out there (including many wireless karaoke mics), but I think this is still by far one of the best microphones for mobile use available today.
